MANILA - Newly crowned Miss World Philippines 2012 Queenierich Ajero Rehman left for Guangzhou, China with 95 kilos of excess baggage Wednesday morning.

The 24-year-old Filipino-Pakistani beauty from Las Piñas City took flight CZ378 that left the NAIA Terminal 1 at 8:30 a.m. today.

She was sent off at the airport by a member of her court 1st Princess Mary Anne Ross Cardenas Misa, pageant organizer Cory Quirino and her mother Amalia Yukawa.

Rehman spent more time at the check-in counter because her excess luggage was more than the 70 kilos limit. Despite the pressure, she still managed to accommodate admirers for photo ops before boarding her flight.

The 5’8” B.S. Psychology graduate of Assumption was the last passenger to board the aircraft due to numerous requests of passengers and airport personnel to be photographed with her.

The 62nd edition of the Miss World pageant will be held on August 18, 2012 in Dongsheng Fitness Center Stadium, Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China, where Rehman joins some 120 contestants worldwide.

Miss Ivian Sarcos of Venezuela will crown her successor at the end of the event.

Rehman, who turned 24 last Saturday on the eve of the finals, was a top 12 finalist and the Best in Swimsuit in Bb. Pilipinas 2011 won by Shamcey Supsup, who eventually became Miss Universe 3rd runner-up.

Miss World Philippines 2012 Queenie Rehman is a 23-year-old Psychology major at the Assumption College. A sporty lass, Queenie garnered Rookie of the Year and MVP awards as a varsity player in her school. From the twenty-five lovely Filipinas from across the archipelago are vying for the much-coveted title of Miss World Philippines 2012 this year, she bested the rest. 

Rehman, who showed off her peculiar singing skills during the talent portion of the 2012 Miss World Philippines contest, bested 24 other candidates at the culmination beauty pageant in Manila Hotel Tent on Sunday, June 24.

The Filipina-Pakistani basketball player from Assumption College will represent the Philippines in the 2012 Miss World competition on August 18 in Inner Mongolia, China. She also receives P1 million cash prize and a Hyundai car.

Rehman was also hailed with a Brains and Beauty award for her response during the Question and Answer portion.

She was asked this tweeted question: As an ambassador of the Philippines, what are the best features of your country that you can project to the world?

She answered: "I believe that wherever you will go here in the Philippines, it's not the islands that make us special but of course the Filipinos who have warm hospitality, who are having smiles on their faces, and of course who will treat all foreigners the love and respect, and hospitality that they can give to them. I believe that the Philippines is a country that we can be proud of."
